Self Ligating Braces
Bracket Design: Self-ligating braces feature brackets with a small, spring-loaded door or clip mechanism. This mechanism holds the archwire in place without the need for traditional elastic bands or ligatures.
Archwire Engagement: The archwire, which runs through the brackets, is secured in place by the self-ligating clips. This allows for more controlled and precise movement of the teeth during the orthodontic treatment process.
Reduced Friction: Because there are no elastic ligatures to create friction, self-ligating braces are often associated with reduced friction between the wire and the bracket. This can potentially lead to less discomfort for the patient and may allow for more efficient tooth movement.
